The installation itself usually takes 2 to 3 working days, spread across roughly a week so the concrete at the posts can cure. Before that come the estimate, any city permit or review, the OHIO811 notice and a place on our schedule.
What happens, in order
- A free visit to measure, followed by a written quote.
- Permit or city review, if your city requires it.
- OHIO811 request, at least 2 working days and no more than 16 calendar days before digging.
- Old fence removed, holes dug, posts set and left to cure.
- Rails and panels or chain link fabric, then the gates. We clean up and walk the fence with you.
What slows a fence job down in Cleveland?
- The spring rush, when the snow goes and everyone calls in the same few weeks.
- Suburbs that review a drawing or want board approval before work begins.
- Frozen ground and lake-effect snow in the middle of winter.
- Clay that is saturated after rain or snowmelt, so holes fill with water.
- Narrow lots and shared driveways where digging is by hand.
- Roots, old footings and buried rubble.
- Custom gates and special-order material.
We are getting a dog in three weeks and have no fence. What is fastest?
Phone us today. The permit check and the OHIO811 notice use up some of those three weeks. Stock materials go up quickest, which means chain link and standard wood panels. If the full yard will not be ready in time, we can enclose a smaller run for the dog first and complete the fence afterward.
We are putting in a pool. Fence before or after?
Some of each. The pool builder needs a way in for equipment, so one side stays open until the excavation is finished. Then the whole barrier must be standing and inspected before the pool is signed off.
My association says fix the fallen panels by Monday and my contractor keeps delaying. Can a handyman patch it?
Yes. It is your fence, and a handyman patch will generally satisfy the deadline. Read your contract first, then tell the contractor in writing what was patched and the reason. That keeps the final repair and its bill straightforward.
The only real price is one measured in your yard. The estimate is free and comes in writing. Call (216) 238-3677 or text us a photo of the fence line.
